Its uncommon, distinct flavor is matched only by the rarity of the sweet honey produced when local, island bees are introduced to its flowers. The Kona weather plays a big role in the pollination of these flowers. If it’s too rainy, the flowers blossom in limited numbers. Hence, this varietal is a rare treasure.
